PUBLISHED on August 11, 2025, 04:18 PM EDT – Key Points and Summary – President Trump is set to meet Vladimir Putin in Alaska this Friday to propose a “land swap” deal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, even after his August 8 ceasefire deadline passed without action.

-Trump has described the summit as a “feel-out meeting” to gauge Putin’s willingness to negotiate.

-Details remain vague, but reports suggest the deal could require Ukraine to cede Crimea and parts of the Donbas.

-While Kyiv objects, the proposal puts President Zelenskyy in a difficult position, as Trump may leverage his influence with European allies to push for an agreement.

Here’s What Trump Will Propose to Putin On Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump’s August 8 deadline for a Russia-Ukraine peace agreement has passed without a deal.

Yet, new U.S. sanctions on Moscow remain on hold—a delay that can be logically attributed to an upcoming high-stakes meeting between the Russian and U.S. presidents in Alaska.

Late last week, Trump signaled that he plans to present Vladimir Putin with a “land swap” proposal aimed at ending the war.

The idea was reiterated during a White House press conference on Monday, describing the August 15 talks as a “feel-out meeting” to determine whether such a plan is viable – despite objections from Kyiv.

“So I’m going in to speak to Vladimir Putin, and I’m going to be telling him, you’ve got to end this war. You’ve got to end it,” Trump said.

The president also indicated that a future meeting could include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

What We Know So Far

While details of Trump’s proposal have yet to be revealed, U.S. negotiators have likely already discussed some of the specifics with Moscow ahead of Trump’s planned meeting with Putin.

The two world leaders are expected to meet in Alaska on August 15—a historic meeting that could either mark the beginning of the end of the war or the start of a new era in the conflict, defined by weakened support from the United States and potentially some of its European allies.

Trump suggested on Monday that, should his meeting with Putin suggest a peace deal is possible, he would immediately discuss his plans with European leaders to bring them on board with the idea.

European media outlets have reported that Russia could be open to freezing front lines, with Ukraine relinquishing parts of Donetsk and Luhansk.

Reports have also suggested that Ukraine would likely be required to accept Russian claims over Crimea, which was annexed in 2014. So far, though, there has been no indication that Russia is entirely on board with the idea of relinquishing control of other Ukrainian territories – or that a “land swap” deal would involve Russia ceding any territories it controls that are located within its internationally recognized borders.

What Happens Next for Ukraine?

Likely anticipating the possibility of European support for whatever deal may emerge from the Alaska talks, Zelenskyy has already sought – and secured – backing from EU and NATO officials in calling for Kyiv’s direct involvement in the discussions.

That support, however, could evaporate should European leaders see Trump’s eventual proposal as offering a genuine and rapid path to peace, particularly if he leverages his newfound influence over NATO at a time when the alliance is working to strengthen its defense and expand its military capabilities.

In 2014, the POTUS Obama’s Democrat Cabal unilaterally greenlighted the Putin “little green groomer” military re-start of the ancient 1000 year old genocide of Ukrainians. The initial move was to get local russkie speakers to basement butcher Ukrainian parents and trade the “Lolita” package to the groomers for military items.

In 2025 the POTUS Trump needs to demand that the Putin regime pre pays $10,000,000 in US gold bullion for each and every Ukrainian victim as compensation and reparation immediately: NOW.

After the gold bullion for a minimum of 30,000 victims of cultural genocide is fully received, only then can the blather of code words like peace and cease fire can start.

The world needs to determine if the 2025 Putin is semi-honourable or just another russkie butcher in the 1000 years of genocide of Ukrainians. -30-
